We, Japan Alternative Investment Co., Ltd were established in December 2001 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsui & Co., Ltd, and have pursued our target to be the leading company in the field of alternative investment, in accordance with its spread in Japan.
In the ever-changing investment environment, the role of and expectation of alternative investments in the investors' asset management and financial product investment activities have become increasingly significant year by year. Now the alternative investment asset class has increased to become one of their most important asset classes, highlighting the importance our social role and responsibility will play within the market field.
We strive to contribute to our clients' portfolio management by utilizing our expertise and network both domestically and overseas, to discover, develop and place first-tier products that meet the clients' needs. The seismic change in the market environment is bringing about an upheaval within the alternative investment industry. We are determined to commit ourselves to the provision of unchanged value through offering of the products-recognizing the strong demand for products designed from the investors' standpoint.
In the ever-progressing and rapidly-changing alternative investment industry, to cope with the diversifying needs of investors we would aim to further enhance value creation through providing products including hedge funds, private equity and real estate funds, as well as proactive development and presentation of investment products characterized by "real assets" and "real business", making effective use of the strategic support and expertise of Mitsui & Co, of which we are advantageously positioned as a strategic financial subsidiary.
